Sponsored by Chumby, the cuddly, Flash- and wifi-enabled alarm clock. In addition to some great talks, demos and content, Chumby will give away a couple devices and other cool stuff.

And then we'll break for a sponsored party from 9P till close. Come out and network with your friends, colleagues and the community!

---------

Chumby will demonstrate the chumby device, the underlying Adobe Flash Lite 3 technologies, how to create, publish and share widgets using the Chumby Network, and share "insider tricks" to hack the Linux-based chumby to do other interesting things.

We will also feature a webcast with Scott Janousek, a noted speaker and developer of Flash for mobile and devices. And several LA Flashers will show off the work they've done for Chumby.

---------
"Gettin' Widggy with it" - Chumby Widget Development with Flash Lite

Hear about how to leverage your existing Flash skills to create Flash Lite content such as glanceable applications, ultra casual games, and much more for this uniquely fun; and surprisingly powerful; non-PC device platform.

We’ll discuss many Flash Lite widget development topics unique to the Chumby; such as: various user input methods, remote data exchange methods, security, multimedia capabilities, API, the Chumby environment/framework; and time permitting, much more.

We’ll walkthrough the creation of a simple Chumby widget from initial concept; all the way through design, development, testing, and eventual deployment to the Chumby network.

Best practices as well as some tips & tricks will be discussed.
