Modernising Your Bedroom

It's always a good idea to redecorate your bedroom once in a while to keep things fresh and interesting so you won't be bored by the same old interior. Updating a bedroom's interior design can be as simple as changing a few things like the colour scheme, a couple pieces of furniture and some decor accessories (lights, curtains, drapes, etc).

It doesn't have to be a major overhaul, remodeling or renovation project to bring your entire bedroom up to trend.

The easiest way is to start from colours. If you are looking for a modern and contemporary feel, use neutral colours and hues, or shades of a single colour. Black and white colour palettes are perhaps the most popular choices in this case. Then, add in some feature items or a feature wall with a more vibrant and bold colour to really make them stand out.

If you are not fond of the new paint colours, you can always repaint them and try out something different. Paints don't cost much and the process can be done quickly.

Replace your existing furniture with more simple, geometric shape pieces and pair them with geometrical patterned accessories such as the bedding and mirrors. Add a bit of luxury by using modern silk fabrics or cashmere pillows, and a large floor rug with interesting colours and motifs.

Make good use of space and try removing things that are not necessary to create a more spacious and less cluttered environment. A storage bed is really great for this purpose as you can eliminate the use of extra storage cabinets that can occupy big amount of floor space.
