It is great to collect things that we like and collections are able to reflect the personality of a person. These days they are not just merely collected to be as collections, they are fine pieces of artwork that can be used to decorate the home. People love to collect all sorts of items based on their very own interests and their collections can be placed and positioned in many ways as decorations in the home.

There are plenty of famous people whom their home interiors are designed based on superb collections and the results are simply magnificent. However, not everyone has the capability to design their interiors around collections well. But, adding a few simple pieces of them can really spice up the mood of your home.

You might find that a lot of people who go out picnicking at the seashore or beach like the idea of collecting corals and seashells during their trip. Some of these seashells and corals that look rare and beautiful can be gathered as collectables for the home and be used as decorations. They can be creatively placed on pillows, tissue boxes, lamps or at the sideboard, just use your imagination. The shells can be painted in anyway you wish to fit your interior design. When visitors come by and see these great looking little decorations, they are sure to ask where they were bought from.

If you are now thinking of what to collect, it pretty much depends on your personal interests. Try to collect something which is meaningful and something that are able to match with your home interior design. Items that belong to the same type should best be grouped together. It is not a good idea to scatter the collections all over the house because it will slowly make people loose their interest on that certain group of collectables when they are separated.
